Anyway, Frans - 'though the stock cams are wild, most if not all TS racers here run hotter cams and use the VVT solenoid as an oil plug

Then they do all sorts of stuff to the engine, add throttle bodies or carburettors, a ridiculously large airbox, coil packs and stand alone engine management leaving them with approximately 230 equine power units. I'll try to find some pictures. Obviously the outside view of an engine does not answer your question but will inspire your friend.
Alfa Challenge 105 cars are hardly ever (never ?) TS equipped, as rules exclude any engine with more tham the original amount of spark plugs (although I'm not sure if it's okay to weld up a spark plug hole and use the much better flowing TS head. I don't think so.)...
