Jack; scherp, inderdaad Le Mans 1965!
www.alfabb.com. Hij zegt ook een en ander over UD-105338 bij chassis #108.

Chassis number 750-104
In the archives of Alfa Romeo, this TZ-2 is describes as a “testcar”. The documentation of Carrozzeria Zagato says that this is the first TZ-2 with a glass fibre body and the second example that was built. It is likely that Auto Delta supplied this car with engine AD 106 and that this car had the license plate UD-111645. If this is correct, the extra headlamps on the drawing (in the article; Olaf), are later additions. The history of this car is unknown.
Chassis number 750-106
This car came to Auto Delta on the 6th or 7th of august (1965) with license plate UD-111832. It was fielded for the Targa Florio of 1966 under racenumber 130. It also took part in Monza 1966. On the 6th of November it was sold to Jolly Club (in the name of Pierlorenzo Picolotto) with the new license plate VI-159195. On the 4th of February 1971 it was sold to Richard Pilkington, England and on a not known date to Steve Forristall, Houston, USA. In July 1988 it went via Switzerland to Classic car Associates in Holland and from there to Japan. The originally red car was white during a short period with Jolly Club. Now (1992) it has the original colour again.
Chassis number 750-107
Originally, this was the not produced TZ-1 with chassis number 750-079. The chassis was later modified tot TZ-2 specifications and got chassis number 107. According to the archives of Alfa Romeo, the car was fitted with a glass fibre TZ-1 body of Balzaretti e Modigliani. With engine AD 109, it took part in the 24 hours of Le Mans with license plate UD-100953. Strange enough, this license plate was also on the TZ-2 with chassis number 750-112 in Le Mans in 1965. Ex-owners are amongst others Rosati, Saitti, Guarnieri and trader Giulio Dubbini. The present owner is unknown.
Chassis number 750-108
The TZ-2 was fitted with a glass fibre TZ-1 body of Balzaretti e Modigliani and had engine AD 108. The license plate was UD-105338. This license plate was later used on a “real” TZ-2 in Le Mans. It is likely that the car that later used license plate UD-111833, chassis number 108, which has been in the ownership of Alfonso Torriani for a long time, was recently discovered in Sicily.
Chassis number 750-109
This TZ-2 was also fitted with a glass fibre TZ-1 body of Balzaretti e Modigliani. With license plate UD-105339, it entered the Sebring race of 1965. This license plate was also used in Le Mans 1965 on a “real” TZ-2 with start number 42, chassis number unknown. Not on the car, not on the license plate, are details of a later date known. The car seems to have disappeared.
Chassis number 750-110
Glass fibre TZ-2 with license plate UD-111833, which was raced frequently. It took part in the hillclimb Trento-Bondone in 1965, the Coupe the Paris in 1965, the “rally dei Jolly Hotels” in 1965, Sebring 1966, 1000 kilometres of Monza 1966, Targa Florio 1966, Nurburgring 1966, 1000 kilometres of Monza 1967. The car was sold by Auto Delta to Ottorino Volonterio, who owned it for a long time. The present owner (1992) is Giuseppe Lucchini in Brescia, Italy.
Chassis number 750-111
Glass fibre TZ-2 with license plate UD-119445. Took part in Targa Florio 1966. The license plate was also used on Sebring 1966 but on that occasion the plate was probably on 750-110 which normally used license plate UD-111833. The car was sold to Giorgio Bianchi by Auto Delta. Other owners were Amongst others Cecchi and Schiavon. The car is now (1992) owned by Spinetti, Montecantini, Italy with license plate PT-245115.
Chassis number 750-112
This is the first built TZ-2, which, as the only example, had a aluminium body. According to the present owner, Said Marouf in the USA, the body of this example was used to make the moulds for the glass fibre bodies of the other cars. This car was built, using a modified TZ-1 chassis, that originally had chassis number 750-072, but was never used. The original colour is orange, but for the 24 hours of Le mans, it was painted red. With this car, the TZ-2 made is debut on Monza 1965. It was also fielded for the 24 hours of Le mans 1965, the 1965 Targa Florio and Nurburgring 1965. The license plate was UD-111834, but their seems to be no photograph on which this license plate is visible. The car run at the six hours of Melbourne under the Auto delta banner and was the sold to Max Brunninghausen. After that, the car passed into the hands of the Alec Mildren Team, was painted yellow and competed in Surfers Paradise in Queensland. Eventually, it ended up with Said Marouf in the USA, who had the car restored perfectly and had it painted in the original orange colour.
Chassis number 705-113
TZ-2 with glass fibre body and license plate UD-121002. It had an adventurous life and was amongst others fielded in the Targa Florio of 1966 under racenumber 126. It won its class and finished 4th overall. It was also seen on the Nurburgring on 1966 under racenumber 76. The car was sold by Auto Delta to Shangri-La (Romano Martini) and it was again for sale in march of 1968. This TZ-2 is now in the hands of Vito Witting da Parto in Florence (Firenze), who gave me (Ben Hendriks) a lot of information which made it possible to write this article. The car is to restored shortly (1992).
Chassis number 705-114
The chassis with TZ-2 specification was delivered to Pininfarina who built a special body on it and showed the car on the Salon of Turin in 1965. The car disappeared to the American west coast and was then sold to a mysterious Japanese man with a big car collection. In “Klaverblaadje” nr 22, an article about this car has been published.
Chassis number 705-115
This TZ-2 with glass fibre body has never had a license plate and has had no racehistory. It was probably especially made for the Alfa Romeo museum were it was delivered in February of 1986. It is still part of the collection.
Chassis number 705-116
This TZ-2 also had a glass fibre body and in the beginning had license plate UD-121003. The car has no traceable Italian racehistory. From copies of the technical specifications, which came into my possession trough Rob Shanahan, it turns out that this car was delivered to the Belgian team of count Van der Straaten (VDS) on the 2nd of November 1966. Amongst others, it was fielded for the 1000 kilometres of Monza in 1967, Nurburgring 1967, the 12 hours of Reims in 1967, and Francorchamps 1967. On a not known date, the car was sold to Frenchman Maria Fernand and received lincense plate 51 CG 94. After begin owned by Said Marouf who also owns 750-112 (1992), it was sold to Japan in 1992.
Chassis number 705-117
This TZ-2 also had a glass fibre body on which much was modified. The car was built in 1967 and initially had engine AD 119. After being fitted with an GTAm-engine, it raced in the 2 litre class for a while. After being sold by Auto Delta, it went through the hands of Bardelli, Von Wegner, Colombo and Dubbini. It ended up with Classic Car Associates. The present owner is Peter Kaus (1992) and the car is standing in the Rosso_Bianco museum in Aschaffenburg, Germany.
