question is very old, so my answer may confirm / disagree other answers :

this white metal Alfa romeo P3 was made in 1976 in England by Paddy Stanley.
It was released as Paddy Stanly nr 8 and dit not have any decals.
I own this old kit, still in original condition (hope I can find it after all this years)

I have a question maybe someone here can answer.

I recently bought a few old models of the 70s, including this one:



I thought it was John Day, but Day never issued a Tipo B (P3), according to all sources. There's no marking under it, except a painted sign (containing maybe a C) and what appears to be a # 48. It may or may not relate to the manufacturer catalogue number, or any identification making sense for who assembled it.

I'm sure I have a picture of this very model somewhere, but it is definitely not in Rampini nor in the miniature magazine I have, and I failed to find back the pic which is impressed in my memory.

Browsing Fer's listing, the likely candidates might be Classic Cars or Plumbie Inter, as it is white metal and represents a 1934, cart sprung Tipo B (not the Stanley 1935 Dubonnet version, shown in the background).

Anyone owns the same and/or can identify it?

Paddy heeft behalve de P3 (oplage 100-200 stuks wit metaal) nóg een Alfa gemaakt, een P2 waarvan een 20-tal in glasvezel en een paar in wit metaal.

Now back to the identification of the P3. I have maybe been too fast 10 min ago with the confirmation: when I bought this P3, I ruled out it as being Stanley (and wrongly agreed here above on the base of my collection file, where I have a Tipo B Stanley listed), as I identified the Stanely as being this other model in my showase:



Consistently with its description, it's a 1935 Dubonnet front suyspension car with wide body. Alfavaganza, on the bottom of page 439, discussed that on the base of the wheels, the "unknown P3" has distinctly different wheels compared to the known Stanley. gtv6-wm, can you please confirm that the wheels in your kit fit those on my model, as well as the features of the car (narrow body, cart sprung, steering rod, etc.) ?

The resin (?) P2 is a model I had the luck to find, and is fascinating indeed for being hollow:

It is a mix:

I carved a ‘master’ out of polystyrene sheet which I had cemented into a block and using a one-piece, open, Silastomer mould I cast each body using gel coat, glass fibre ribbon and casting resin – a very laborious process.

A very rare but also extremely interesting model because it's from the earliest days of models produced not as toys but as collector's items.

wat ik gehoord of gelezen heb over de P2 van Paddy Stanley : gemaakt eind jaren 60 (?) , er zijn slechts enkele stuks van gemaakt in polyester er zijn een drietal stuks van gemaakt in white metal (white metal vermoedelijk begin jaren 70)

Thank you very much. I've looked at your picture, and it fits the model I identified as Paddy Stanley, the one reproduced on this page with bare metal radiator cowling.

The link provided by Hans gives all details on Stanley's "business" back in the 60s-70s, including numbering this P3 as #10 in his production, instead of #8 as reported in Alfa models listings.

This leaves my other WM model of P3 unidentified. After a second check, my "best guess" would be Grand Prix Models, a guess based on the exclusion of other models described with non fitting features. But I might be wrong, and would love to be proved so!

I partly dry-assembled my P3 from GPM (Classic car series nr 76) to allow comparison with your P3.

For me it is not clear whether or not they are the same model, they might be.

The tires in the Classic car kit are VERY small (check my dropbox picture included above) and seem to be the same as the one's on your model : wheels are smaller than the brake drums.

The wheels in the Paddy Stanley kit are larger size.

Brilliant! For me there's no doubt that my assembled model is indeed the same as your GPM kit. Everything fits, from the small wheels to the shape of the cowl, the place where the steering rod has to be glued, and the overall rounded shape of the body. Also same louvres on the apron, same front crossmember. No doubt left. Thank you for the confirmation of the identification.

het Italiaans forum Automodellando meldde in maart, dat in Toscane (Arezzo) Hachette een nieuwe edicola serie zou testen. Alfa Romeo Collection die-cast 1:43 uit China, gemaakt bij Leo Models (net als de Fabbri Sport Collection- Metro Model edicola).

Een beperkt aantal test exemplaren haalden al snel de Ebay sites. Bij Hachette bleef het stil. Eerst werd verwacht dat deze 1:43 modellen serie in september 2015 zou starten, het lijkt er nu op dat Hachette afziet van deze edicola ?. De gemaakte rest voorraad wordt dan via andere kanalen op de markt gebracht. Deze 4 modellen staan nu aangekondigd bij importeur Replicars in de Whitebox verpakking met een andere prijsstelling. Whitebox is een merknaam van webshop ModelCarWorld voor heruitgaven van niet verkochte oudere kiosk series, soms in andere kleuren. Ook in 1:24 bracht Whitebox al enkele Alfa modellen opnieuw uit, bekend uit de Quattroruote/Hachette/Fabbri edicoli.
