Hello! I need advice form experienced Novanta owners

My car is 1984 2.5 V6 with twin plate clutch, the clutch is gone, both plates, bearing and housing. It seems like twin plate clutch kit is almost impossible to get nowadays... What is common practice for clutch change on those cars? Should I go for 2l TS clutch from 75? I have donor car where I can get all necessary parts for that change. Or it's better to go for late V6 models one plate clutch? Does it fit exactly or do I need some modifications done as well?

Hi, I had the same problem with my novanta. I replaced the complete clutch unit with the one from a 75 2.0 carbs (I think the TS clutch is similar). No problems with mounting on the gearbox except for the clutch slave cilinder, you should use the one from the 2.0 also. The 'triangle' connecting the rubber/driveshaft to the clutch unit has to be used from the 2.5 (different size)

I never had problems with this single clutch plate,not even when I was towing a trailer loaded with 3.5 ton bricks...

How many 90 are still on the road in Italy?

The answer is on the internet site of ACI.
There are 2,183 2 litres, 1,958 2.4 turbodiesels, 714 2 litre V6s, 642 1.8 litres, and finally 231 2.5 V6s.
So 5,728 Alfa 90s in all.(In italie)

In Italie rijdt nog ongeveer 10% van de geproduceerde 90´s rond.

Thank you for advice, this seems the most sensible option as I have got some 75/90 with 2l engine for spares http://www.myalfa.eu/ offers a replacement two disc setup, but price is really huge

Binnenkort weer twee extra op de registersite, dan komt de teller op 145, waarvan 32 in AlfaHeaven. Voorlopig na twee jaar geen gek resultaat.

Zo een dubbel koplampen 90 heb ik een aantal jaren geleden ook gehad. was een champagne kleurige v6 met een kapotte motor maar harde koets (en origineel analoog dashboard op een V6). Is toen verkocht en wat ik hoorde is er nog jaren door een monteur van Van Lingen mee rondgereden.
Schijnt daarna op de sloop beland te zijn.
Dit speelde allemaal voor het digitale fototijdperk en ik heb er dan ook helaas geen foto's van.

Was die al bekend hier? Is blijkbaar oorspronkelijk een uit Italie geimporteerde 90 geweest, zie foto 3.
Heb dat boekje maar weer terug in het handschoenenkastje gelegt...

Ik leef nog hoor , maar het is echt werken werken en nog eens werken de laatste tijd . Dus ik beloof je dat ik binnekort weer wat ga toevoegen .

De Novanta zal trouwens hoogstwaarschijnlijk niet worden ingeschreven deze zomer omdat we de FANplaat willen redden .

ik ben inmiddels ook weer een 90 bezitter , ik heb de SG(ex CMVA) weer gekocht, het is de huidige auto van Klaas(bekend als Kas op het forum), ik heb eerder de 1.8 novanta gehad en die is me altijd bijgebleven, alleen was ik op zoek naar een v6, en klaas kennende heeft hij deze auto goed aangepakt, dus vandaar dat ik besloot om deze 90 van Klaas te kopen, ik hoop er veel plezier van te hebben.
